Isopure Unflavored Protein Powder Campaign

The Challenge: Protein powder is sold as a lifestyle product, but flavor is where most brands lose people. Taste is polarizing, and polarizing is risky.

The Audience: Health-conscious consumers who are tired of "flavor" as a marketing gimmick and want a product that just works without becoming its own decision.

The Insight: You don't need to love your protein powder; you need to not hate it. By removing flavor entirely, Isopure removes the emotional risk. Nothing becomes the feature, not the compromise.

My Role: Campaign concept and creative direction (independent strategy project).

What I Did: Built the full campaign around "The Importance of Nothing," using minimalist, negative-space-driven design to visually mirror the product's flavorless positioning. Extended the idea into a brand partnership (Liquid Death x Isopure, reframed as "Flavor-Free Protein Water") and a physical brand experience — a minimalist wellness activation for 18–35-year-old wellness-curious professionals that translated the brand idea into a real space.

The Result: A campaign system that scales across product design, a co-brand extension, and an experiential activation — all built from a single, disciplined insight rather than three disconnected ideas.

The Problem

People typically don’t need to love their protein powders; they just need to not hate them.

Protein powders are positioned as lifestyle products, but most consumers don’t want a flavor experience; they want something tolerable. When taste becomes polarizing, it creates emotional risk.

The Solution

Isopure removes flavor as a variable. Its protein is intentionally flavorless: delivering everything you need, with nothing you don’t. No sweetness, chalkiness, or emotional risk. By eliminating taste, the product becomes adaptable, neutral, and habit-friendly.

Nothing becomes the feature.

Flavor-free by Design

Inspired by minimalist design principles, negative space became a core visual tool. Instead of filling every surface, the campaign employs restraint, allowing space, simplicity, and contrast to convey the message. Just like the product, the design contains everything necessary and nothing extra.

Liquid Death X Isopure

Clean Gains x Killer Hydration

To extend The Importance of Nothing, we partnered with Liquid Death, a brand known for turning something as simple as water into a cultural statement. If Isopure removes flavor to eliminate friction, Liquid Death removes plastic, sugar, and pretense. Both brands win by stripping things down. The collaboration reimagines protein as Flavor-Free Protein Water: a can that delivers clean gains with killer hydration.

Bold on the outside, with nothing unnecessary on the inside.

Nothing More, Nothing Less

Concept Extension

To extend 'The Importance of Nothing' beyond product, I created an immersive wellness experience that reframed protein as clarity, not intensity. In a culture of overstimulation and overconsumption, this event invited 18–35-year-old wellness-curious professionals to experience the power of less. Sponsored by Liquid Death x Isopure, the event translated flavorless protein into a physical, minimalist space.
